Guardian Angels

In church last Sunday Father mentioned guardian angels and reminded us that our own guardian angel is always with us. Can anyone tell me more (or refer me to a source?) about the Orthodox view of guardian angels?

  1. The way I understand it a guardian angel is assinged you before birth, and follows you all the way through death.
    I’m no expert though.
I often times have heard my angel telling me to do, or not do, certain things.
    Am I weird!?!?

  3. I asked this question in Theology 101 last week, and Father said that when we’re baptized/chrismated, at that time the Church says we are united with our Guardian Angel. I *think* I phrased that correctly. (if you were there and remember it differently, write a comment, please!) I asked if that meant that people who haven’t been baptized don’t have a Guardian Angel. Father said we don’t know the answer to that, we only know what the Church does say. Also, someone mentioned that each country has their own Guardian Angel!
